selective cooolloorrrr

well this assignment was a bit difficult. i really love butterflies so i found this pic of this really cute butterfly








i duplicated my image onto a new layer

                               next, i went on channel mixer and choose the black and white 

option. i started to toy with picture to  pic out the best color

pretty blues

and pinks

these last two made the butterfly the main focus. i included the flowers as well to perk it up

a raster silhouette with a bitmapped photographic background

i call my work, “big world small wolf”. this peice was created using some pics from the web

here's how i put together this image:

i started off with these two pics. i put them on one page.

 i turned my animal into a "smart object" so that i can move the pic around without distorting  it.

after i positioned it, i removed the background by selecting the white part using the "magic wand" tool then "inverse" so that the black part doesn't end up disappearing.

 

                         i touched up my silhouette by erasing the white pieces that was left over.

i added a drop shadow to give a little "life" to my creature.

i found a nice water texture and threw it on top of  my landscape

i played with the colors until i got the perfect look.
